— About
Daisey James is a photographer, designer and social media marketing specialist based in Bellingham, Washington.
A little about me...
Born in Germany to military parents, I was raised by my mother in the small mountain town of Virginia City, Nevada. Since leaving my hometown I've traveled parts of Europe, and lived in Ireland, New Hampshire and Vermont before finding my long-term home.
I love to travel, meet new people and animals, and have new experiences. I'm a big time car lover, fitness fanatic, sports enthusiast, and outdoor adventurer. In addition, I have two rescued fur babies - an adventurous cat, Luna, and my infallible adventure partner, my dog, Bruno.
I have loved photography and design my entire life, but truly discovered my passion when I began the visual journalism program at Western Washington University.
With my background in journalism, I am experienced in a range of styles including event and sports photography as well as lifestyle and commercial work. In addition to photography, I use many of the skills I learned at Western working as a graphic designer.
My professional background includes working as a reporter, photographer, and features editor for The Western Front and as lead photographer and multimedia editor at the Klipsun Magazine in Bellingham. In addition, I worked as the digital media intern for the Pickford Film Center and freelance for The Bellingham Herald.
Upon graduating from university in 2016, I worked at Pizza'zza in Fairhaven as the creative specialist - facilitating a brand refresh for the business - and as kitchen manager until 2020, when I took a full-time graphic design position with The Lones Group.
I'm available for freelance work, collaborations, and more, so let’s chat!
